RUH SURGICAL

ASSESSMENT UNIT

The existing ward with 3 bed bays was tired and ill laid out for its current use. The user's brief was to modernise the ward and to design a layout that better suited their needs, with more storage and patient facilities.

Staff were provided with a new staff room, toilet facilities and dirty utilities for each ward, whilst further toilet and showering rooms for the patients were included throughout.

Arturus updated the reception area, making it more defined and prominent, and made visible to those entering the ward.

Arturus updated the overall colour scheme to provide a fresh and bright environment for both the patients and staff. Purposeful colour was used in the trolley bay to achieve a more dementia friendly approach and windows were included in the new partitions to maintain the light in the area.
