This scheme represents phase 2 of the Perrett House development within the Old Market Conservation Area, Bristol. Arturus have designed a new building which exploits a previously underused brownfield site to the rear of Perrett House to create 35 private rental apartments.
The proposal contains generous communal areas including a large roof terrace and private gym.
The design draws reference from an in-depth analysis of the site history, an approach which has been championed by the Old Market Community Association and supported by the Bristol Conservation Advisory Panel.
The concept of the design draws reference to the historic ‘burgage plots’ which were once prevalent in the area, whilst orientating itself to rejuvenate Redcross Lane which has recently had considerable issues with crime and anti social behaviour.
The scheme was submitted for planning in December 2019 and is currently under consultation.
