The remodelling of an existing inpatient ward to create a second ICU department for the RUH Bath. The scheme provides 14 beds across 6 rooms, all of which provide negative pressure ventilation for the control of air-borne diseases. Designed ahead of the Coronavirus outbreak, construction was brought forward and completed in 42 days to provide additional ICU bed spaces and allow the Trust to separate ICU patients with and without the infection.
